The Victoria British Aid Fund was founded to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee and its brief is to help locally resident UK citizens who fall on hard times – usually because of age, illness and funds that are now inadequate to cope with their outgoings, lack of any nearby family and impracticality of repatriation.

The Victoria British Aid Fund is are looking for someone who could attend an average of 3-4 committee meetings a year which take place from 16h-18h in the building which houses the UK Mission to the UN on avenue Louis-Casäi (the road that runs to and from the airport). Free parking is available.

Requirements:

  • The Victoria British Aid Fund need someone who knows how to take and draft Minutes, which will be revised by committee members, so no need for perfection so long as the content is accurate.
  • In addition, there is the formatting and circulation of info, especially when a new request for help comes in, plus assistance in processing an Annual Appeal, an Annual report, and the Accounts.
  • The person should be a UK national although someone from the Commonwealth could also be considered, and discretion is of course essential.

Ideally, Victoria British Aid Fund would like a volunteer but they could offer modest remuneration and reimburse any office expenses such as paper, phone calls, etc.
