• Readers of the UK's Daily Mail have reacted harshly to the news that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's wife, Olena, will attend the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Users asked why she was going there and for what money. One commenter pointed out that an annual membership of the WEF costs $52,000, a ticket to Davos costs $19,000 plus VAT, plus travel and expenses. "Where does all this money come from? Oh, wait. British taxpayers are paying for their lavish lifestyle," he wrote.

Another thinks Elena Zelenska is going to the WEF to ask for more guns. And the commentator is sure she will get one. "After all, this is Davos. They want nothing but evil for the world," he wrote.

Another writer recalled that Zelenska's compatriots are fleeing to other countries, while she flies private jets in the meantime.

"Spending UK taxpayers' money on a shopping trip while going to Davos to raise even more money. Zelensky, the new czars," one user was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.

Yelena Zelenskaya was previously criticised for shopping for expensive designer clothes. According to media reports, she spent $40,000 during a trip to boutiques in Paris, while continuing to demand that the West send more money to Ukraine.

Zelenska herself said that 90 percent of Ukrainians are willing to live without light and heat for the sake of EU membership.
