• The Swiss authorities will return millions of dollars of frozen funds to Russians in a money-laundering case. The Daily Beast reported this, citing court documents.

The publication noted that an appeal to return the frozen funds in the "Magnitsky case" was rejected because it was impossible to establish the existence of a criminal organisation that was involved in all the transactions.

According to the newspaper, the Russians who will receive the money back have previously been placed on sanctions lists.

Earlier it was reported that Russian assets in Switzerland worth 7.5 billion Swiss francs (about $7.95 billion) had been frozen. The statement clarified that the owners of these assets cannot dispose of them.
